The day I left the country.

Everything is going to be fine.

— Ryan.

As I write this, I am travelling to Heathrow airport to get on a 24hr flight that will take me to the home of my wonderful partner, Ryan.

Today has been stressful. Making sure I’ve packed all of my belongings and trying to get my suitcase to zip up brought me to tears more than once but luckily I have a Ryan to hold my hand and tell me that everything is going to be fine.

Of course he is right and as speed toward the largest airport I have ever been in, I am getting more and more excited about the adventure we are about start together.

See you on the other side… of the world.

Bessie

We have a wonderful Van named Bessie!

Oh Bessie is best.

We’ve been out back looking at the mountains and even whipped out the 4 wheel drive to get up to a high point where we could lookout over Hanmer Springs and Hanmer plains.

We’ve started work now, setting up lines where the house will be so the foundations can be dug and poured. I’ve also been doing some gardening for the new ‘great wall’ which will be protection from the strong winds that funnel through Jack’s Pass. The scenery here is so beautifulthat I am often distracted by it when I look up from working. It really is stunning.

I can’t help but share a few more photographs, these from a walk in the woods with the dogs at sunset.

Of course I wouldn’t have any of this if I’d never met my perfect partner, Ryan. This year will be one to remember!

What is this Blog about?

Hi, I’m Freya! I’m a circus artist from Cornwall, UK.

On the 19th of August 2019, I left the UK in pursuit of an adventure. My lovely partner, Ryan, has taken me with him to his homeland of New Zealand to help him build his father’s house. During the next 6 months or so, we will be building the house and converting a van in our free time. In March time, we plan to start our ultimate road trip around New Zealand.

In this blog, I hope to share with you #traveladventures #vanconversion #circus #carpentry .
